Welcome to Laurie's Lil' Tyke Childcare. My name is Laurie I have been in the childcare business in Zillah, Washington (small little town) for 24 years. I am licensed to have 8 children ages 2 - 11, or 6 children birth - 11. I am a licensed in-home childcare provider, CRP and First Aid Certified and clean CORI (police background check). I provide a loving, happy, educational and secure environment for the children. I strive to enrich each child with a love of learning, a positive self-image, and a sense of creativity. Every month children ages 2 - 5 experience a new theme based curriculum in which they participate in. It is a Pre-K program that will help preschoolers be pre-pared for kindergarden. We do preschool Monday through Thursday every week. I strive to make each day full of learning opportunities for everyone. I encourage each child's individual abilities as well as provide room for them to grow in all areas of learning. Reading is a very big part of every day. We read both provider - chosen books, and children choices. The day is balanced between structure and freedom.Age inclusive program - infants are a welcome part of everything. They take part in reading (often on my lap), are in the room when we do crafts and pre-school, either in a bouncy seat, high chair or jumperoo, and all children benefit from their presence by being exposed to younger children who need care and gentleness. The infants have a great opportunity to learn from older children through immitation and striving to be, "like the big children". The main goal of this childcare is to have fun,improve social skills,and encourage creative expressions. I will utilize a variety of activities to accomplish this goal. V arying play and encouraging exploration in both indoor and outdoor areas. I nteracting with children in a positive manner,that is responsive to individual needs,enhances children's self-confidence and facilitates learning. D eveloping the family child care business by establishing policies,maintaining records and sharing information with parents. E xperiencing professional growth opportunities through participation in seminars,conferences,support group and professional association. R especting and following state and local family child care regulations.
